I just got hold of a used pulverizer. It has just a few of the teeth left with are made out of rebar.New teeth cost $8 each and it needs 30 of them. Will rebar work how long dose it hold up.I know that the real teeth are hardend steel but how will the rebar work. The box of the pulverizer has a small bow in it will the hurt how good it will work? The roller is just fine.Or dose anyone know where i can get the teeth at a better price.I live in S.C.

The fact that the pulverizer doesn't have many teeth left may be a pretty good indication that rebar didn't work that well.
I think that what ever replaces the teeth should have similar hardness to factory replacements. Too soft and they'd bend. Too hard and they'd break or maybe break something on the pulverizer.
For a do it yourself idea, a local blacksmith might be able to do a good enough job of hardening some high-carbon round stock. It would be good to know the Rockwell hardness of the originals to figure how long to leave them in a tempering oven. I did see a blacksmith putting new points on the teeth of a pavement ripper once but I think the teeth were mild steel since seemed to be water-quenching them just to cool them down after heating only the tips so he could work them.

My pulverizer uses 5/8 in square rod held in diagonaly. So, I just order 20 ft pieces of 1/2 hard and cut my own. ....
